This book is a memoir by Misty Copeland, the first African-American to become principal ballerina with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). It describes her difficult childhood, the beginning of her dance lessons (she began dancing at a much later age than most dancers), and the early part of her dance career. She states that anyone can achieve their dreams if they embrace their strengths and never give up.
