Library Exhibit: Artworks by African American Women

by Ilona MacNamara on 2023-02-01T12:33:00-05:00 | 0 Comments

In celebration of Black History Month in February, and Women's History Month in March, the current library exhibit is showcasing artworks by African American women. The content for this display was obtained from Artstor, an online database subscribed to by the Theresa and Edward O'Toole Library. This resource is available to all students, faculty and staff of Saint Peter's University. Artstor provides more than 2 million images from top museums, archives, scholars, and artists — all rights-cleared for education and research — and has tools for teaching and learning in multiple disciplines. The exhibit is on view from February 1 to March 30, 2023. Portrait featured: Amy Sherald, 2018, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama. To learn more about the artist and painting, visit The National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian.
