The O'Toole Library wishes the Jewish community a Happy Passover.
In our Reference Room, we are highlighting the Saint John's Bible "Ten Commandments" illumination by scribe, Thomas Ingmire. This illumination incorporates several passages of Israel's liberation story - the burning bush, the first Passover, the Red Sea crossing, and the twelve pillars erected at the foot of Mount Sinai, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. Elements of this liberation story - water, altar, and mountain - can all be found in this illumination.
