  2. Select All References
  3. Click Share
  4. Click Export references
  5. Choose BibTeX format

  7. A file named Export.bib containing the exported references will be saved in the Downloads area of your computer
  8. Follow instructions for importing references into Zotero, or another citation manager of your choice.

New RefWorks: Export References Folder by Folder

Exporting references folder by folder will take more time but references will remain organized

  1. Login to your New RefWorks account
  2. Go to the My Folders area and select the folder to export
  3. Click Share
  4. Click Export references
  5. Choose BibTeX format
  6. Click Export
  7. A file named Export.bib containing the exported references will be saved in the Downloads area of your computer
  8. Return to the My Folders area and select the next folder to export
  9. Repeat Step 3 through Step 6 until all your folders have been exported
  10. These files will usually be named Export (1).bib, Export (2).bib, Export (3).bib, etc.
  11. Each will contain the exported references corresponding to the folder you highlighted
  12. After export, files can be renamed using the former RefWorks folder name
  13. Follow instructions for importing references into Zotero, or another citation manager of your choice.

Important: Only references will be exported from New RefWorks. PDF files or other documents must be downloaded and reattached individually.
